The Trivia API

Questions supplied by The Trivia API. Free-feed question data is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 for personal/noncommercial use. We group categories, select questions, and shuffle answer choices.

Your device, your game

We store a random first-party device cookie to resume games, show your place on the scoreboard, and allow up to six official weekly nicknames on one phone. We do not fingerprint your device or require an account. Enter your nickname before timed play. Each finished Quick Play score and your one Weekly attempt are saved publicly and automatically. Weekly practice and replays are not available. Clearing browser data resets your local identity and history.

Game tokens, Table Mode names and recent question IDs are saved in this browser. Table sessions expire after 24 hours. Competitive scores and question reports are retained for the leaderboard and staff review. Short-lived request limits use a hashed network address to reduce abuse.

Live Rooms

Public and locked rooms appear in the live room browser under the host’s nickname. Locked rooms require a four-digit PIN; only a secret-derived hash is stored. Your device cookie restores your membership and answers. Players use their own phones; queued players cannot see the current questions. Room hosts can remove players, and staff can close rooms. Inactive rooms close after 15 minutes, rooms last at most 24 hours, and closed-room game data is removed after seven days by bounded cleanup.

House rules

Correct answers earn 1,000 points plus up to 500 for speed. The server keeps time. Every competitive game has 20 questions and 15 seconds per question. Weekly play resets Monday at 2 AM, America/Chicago, including daylight saving time.

No prizes. No Googling. Just bragging rights. Found a bad question? Use Report Question during play.
